Lake Welsh Guided Trips Video

Winter; roughly a three month period of time that is known for driving fisherman to the brink of insanity in anticipation to return to their favorite lakes and catch fish. But it doesn’t have to be that way. If you can brave the cold, fishing power plant lakes in the winter can be a blast!

Lake Welsh, located in east Texas, is a power plant lake. Also known as a “warm water lake”, when the plant is in operation it generates warm water, heating the lake to summer time temperatures in the dead of winter. This keeps the fish active during the cold months when most lakes have slowed down due to low water temperatures. Now, due to more efficient energy sources, most power plant lakes in the area have shut down and are no longer generating hot water. Welsh may be your best bet at catching loads of fish this winter and curing your cabin fever.

Only a 2 hour drive from downtown Dallas, Lake Welsh is well worth a trip this winter. I will be offering guided bass fishing trips from now until January 4th 2018 on Lake Welsh. Half-day and Full-day trips are available (depending on daylight hours). Bring your friend, kids or grand kids and come enjoy some red hot bass fishing over the holidays! See my “book a trip” page for rates and contact info. You will need to contact me to book your trip ASAP!

Below is a new video posted to YouTube of a Lake Welsh trip with a client last week. Check out some of these fish catches! Also a shout out and huge thank you to Freshwater Stills Photography for creating this awesome video. If you enjoyed it, comment below to let them know you did!
